Introduction

Due to the lack of education, many people (women) ending up conceiving unintentionally or they do conceive to baby-sex not of their preference.

Problems

Based on the scenario described above, the following are the major problems facing the societies inside and outside the country;

1. Upsurge (spread) of Divorces

Many marriages break because of the fact that woman do getting birth of the same sex babies in all of the trials.

2. Upsurge of unplanned pregnancies

Conceiving is a thing to be planned, not accidentally occurred. Many women especially from developing countries keep getting pregnancies out of their intentions. Basically in our country we are suffering a lot from ‘pupils getting pregnancies while they are in school’ which results to stop their education. Another key issue is spread of street children, which in a long run it counts to thieves and other unethical people in a society.

The consequences of this problem include;

a. Abortion,

b. Inadequate pregnancy care and hence baby care. It is difficult to fully care-off something you haven’t planned it.

Rationale of the System

Transforming biological science to a social network science that people will plan their families based on baby-sex and conceiving dates easily.

In a while the system will help resolving poverty problems caused by street children and early pregnancies.

The Idea itself

The idea is to develop a mobile-based(on top of android platform) system and a web-based with text message (short message service mostly referred as SMS) service system to address the discussed problems.

The mobile-based system will be embedded with the mobile operation systems like the way it does the phone-book application and many other mobile applications, in a long run the system will utilize all type of mobile phones including those with limited resources. With this, user will be able to record their prior information, then the system will keep alerting them for any necessary notifications including their danger-days(ovulation day). For it being a dynamic system, it will allow user to report any false predictions for future estimations and predictions. For the case of mobile phones with Internet service, updating the system will be possible.

For that of web-based with text message service system, functionally it does mostly similar to the one above except that it runs on separate server while users will be querying to it and get responses through text messages.

All the systems will be able to provide relevant information on how to know the danger-days together with how to plan baby-sex of preference, also the systems will be able to gather user information, analyze them and provide decision based on listed key issues by notifying them through phone alarm and text messages.

Targeted users

Anyone with interests with this system will be regarded as the system user regardless of her sex, age, etc. Technically, anyone who needs to know and make a decision about two key issues of this System (‘when to conceive’ and ‘what baby-sex to conceive’) is regarded as a user of the System.

Challenges facing the Idea

The major challenges facing this Idea are;

• Is the System be ethical? what if all people tend to use the system to help them getting children of the same sex, what will happen - gender imbalance?
• What if the system fails to predict for some environmental reasons? - will the system be trusted again?.

Related researches

Up to date there might so many researches conducted regarding this kind of Idea but so far we are concerned we discovered only two researches;

• Encouraging pregnant women delivering at heath centers rather than at their home places.

This is now taking place at Ifakara in Morogoro region.

• Encouraging the use of “Familia Condoms”

Upon which all the above researches seem to be not helpful to elicit requirements for the Idea.
